Dengan demikian, energy pile dapat berlaku sebagai pondasi dan juga sistem pemanasan dan pendinginan yang lebih efisien dibandingkan air-conditioner tradisional.<\/p><p>Selama tahap percetakan tiang, pipa untuk mentransfer energi panas (heat transfer pipe) dipasang di dalam tiang. Ini memungkinkan cairan (refrigerant) untuk bersirkulasi di dalam energy pile, mentransfer energi panas baik dari tanah maupun ke dalam tanah.<\/p><p>TEKRES Auto-Lock Joint memungkinkan perpanjangan tiang beton dan heat transfer pipe sesuai kebutuhan. Ketika suhu refrigerant (dalam heat transfer pipe) lebih rendah dari suhu tanah, energi panas akan berpindah dari tanah ke refrigerant, sehingga memanaskannya selama aliran berlangsung. Refrigerant yang telah dipanaskan ini kemudian digunakan untuk menghangatkan bangunan serta menyediakan air panas domestik dengan bantuan pompa panas geothermal.<\/p><p>Di musim panas, proses tersebut dapat dibalik. Energi dari dalam ruangan dapat dipindahkan dan disimpan di dalam tanah melalui energy pile, sehingga mendinginkan bangunan\/ruangan.
